Information this site stores

The website is statically generated and does not provide user accounts or publish visitor comments. Your light or dark theme preference may be stored locally in your browser so the site can remember your display choice.

The Breeding Lab saves your scenario choices in this browser, and that progress is not sent to us. Clearing this site's browser data removes it. The recap download and share button only run when you choose to use them.

The clutch tracker saves your clutches, water temperatures, care ticks, and log in this browser too. That data is not sent to us. A backup file downloads to your device only when you ask for one.

Breeder directory

Each listing shows business details that the breeder publishes on its own website, such as its name, state, the varieties it sells, and whether it ships. Breeders can keep, claim, or remove their listing at any time from the listing page.

If you ask to add, claim, or change a listing, we store your email address, what you asked for, any note you add, and the date. We use it only to check and manage the listing, and it is stored in our database with our hosting provider, Cloudflare. We delete your details when you ask.

Usage counts

The clutch tracker and Breeding Lab send anonymous counts, such as how many clutches were started each day. We store only those daily totals, with no name, email, IP address, cookie, or device ID attached. They show us which features people use.

When you click through to a breeder’s website, we add one to a daily count for that breeder, with nothing about you attached. It lets us show breeders how many visitors the directory sends them.

Server logs

Our hosting and edge-cache providers may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and request time for security, reliability, and traffic management.

Contact

If you email, telephone, or message us through an external social platform, we receive the information you choose to provide and use it to respond to your inquiry.

Embedded content and external links

Articles may link to or embed content from other websites. Those services may collect data, use cookies, or track interactions under their own privacy policies. Breed Goldfish does not control those external services.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to learn how many people visit, which pages they read, and how they found us. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google the pages you view, your clicks and scrolling, your device and browser type, and your rough location. Google explains how it uses data from sites like ours.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, Google Analytics sets no cookies. It only sends basic visit details without them. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we tell Google not to use your visit for ads.

You can stop Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Advertising

This site does not show ads. This policy will be updated before any ads are added.

Media

If you send us images for possible publication, avoid including embedded location data unless you intend that information to be public.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information you have sent us, request a correction, or request deletion where we are not required to retain it for legal, security, or administrative reasons.
